| What are the advantages/disadvantages of this? Will it gain any more power or lose power in certain ranges? Completely new to DOHC motors so much help needed. | |

| Definitely not. But if you really want to swap out heads, then get a b16 or gsr head and go vtec. I would in a heartbeat but being broke sucks hah. I know someone with a gsr head and grady is selling a gsr ecu and wiring harness. So you would be good to good, all you would need next is an ls/vtec conversion kit and it will come with everything else you need. | |

| Yeah but from what ive been reading it takes a good chunk of $$$ to do the swap just to gain a few more ponies. Guess I could just cam the hell out of the ls and go with it. | |

| Yeah may just wait til feb. when i get my tax refund and order a b16a from tiger japanese. That way it will be somewhat new motor and very reliable when i start modding. I do plan on swapping to a b series when i get my wife the 4 door civic. She may get my ls if i do a b16a... | |

| Go at least to a b18c. Every b16 I've driven felt like a z6 down low till vtec crossed over. lol | |

| Im just lookin at it from a money stand point. B16 is like $900 cheaper than a b18c which isn't much difference in power rating. Shit who knows though I may end up just rebuilding the ls with parts I really want and save $500 over doing an entire swap where I gotta rewire damn near the whole car.
Right now I am just trying to look at all my options where I dont break the bank because my part of the tax refund my wife is splitting with me includes paint and new wheels. Really hate to put a $3000 motor in a fully primered integra.

| Depending if all integra's come prewired for vtec. You might be able to get away with just a gsr wiring harness or b16a harness. Obd-1 only though ! I know all 92 civic's came prewired for vtec even if they weren't a vtec model. | |

Now that you mention it I do remember something like that with the civics. Now I do have a harness on the driver side of the firewall that is connected to nothing. Vtec harness plugin maybe?

| Vtec wires run in on the passenger side very top grey plug. It's a yellow and green wire and blue and black wire on the car harness side. The engine harness wont have the wires, but the car harness might be prewired. Like this car has pictured | |

| Even if you don't have it prewired in your car harness. It's not a big deal to wire it up. | |

| Yep. You can just run your factory harness and run the 2 vtec wires and pin em to the ecu.. my opinion I would stay with the ls. strong and reliable. Unless you really just wanna hit vtec. | |

| LS/vtec all the way! I ran a crvtec in my old blue hatch. Drove it all the time and hit the 8 k mark a lot. Just make sure to use arp head studs and rod bolts and you are golden! | |
